The Advanced Certificate in Music Education is open to students who hold a bachelor’s degree in music (or related field) but have not obtained the New York State Initial Teacher Certification in Music Education. The program includes courses in the foundations of education, pedagogy, instrument methods, conducting, and student teaching. The program provides a pathway to the Initial Teacher Certification for those seeking positions in choral, instrumental and/or general music in public and private elementary and secondary schools.����
