Applying for Readmission

If you take a break and miss a fall or spring semester during your undergraduate studies, you must file a  readmission application for the semester in which you wish to reenter.

Fall readmission application deadline: 29 August
Spring readmission application deadline: 30 January

If this is your first time applying to ºÚÁÏרÇø, or you have never attended class at ºÚÁÏרÇø, you may not use this application. Please  to file your freshman/transfer application.

Please click Readmissions below to access the application. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Allow three to five working days for processing after submission.

If you have a Bursar hold

If you have a Bursar’s hold at any CUNY institution, please note that you will not be able to register for classes until the hold is resolved.  The link to ºÚÁÏרÇø’s Bursar Office page is under Helpful Links on the right side of this page.

If you were on academic probation when you left ºÚÁÏרÇø

You may be readmitted on probation. A probation hold will be placed on your CUNYfirst account and a representative from Counseling and Resources will contact you shortly before they remove the hold.

If you were dismissed from ºÚÁÏרÇø

You must wait at least one full academic year (one fall semester AND one spring semester) from the date of your dismissal before applying for readmission. After submitting your readmission application, you will  receive an email with instructions on how to file an appeal if applicable. You must follow the instructions and links included in that email. There is no guarantee of readmission after a dismissal.  Please note: if you have been dismissed twice, your Readmissions application will not be processed.

If you last attended ºÚÁÏרÇø before 2010

Please note that the paper records of students who last attended ºÚÁÏרÇø before 2010 have been archived and the Registrar staff requires time to retrieve and duplicate the archived record in CUNYfirst. Durning this time the Registrar’s Office will provide students with a student copy of their transcript to aid in advising while their record is being created.

If you are applying for readmission for graduation purposes only

Please note that you will not be taking courses and will be applying for graduation upon readmission. You will receive additional instructions after your readmission has been processed.
