What does an assessment coordinator do?
°Õ³ó±ðÌýAssessment CoordinatorÌýdevelops andÌýsupportsÌýassessmentÌýthatÌýinformsÌýcontinuous improvement in Departments, Schools, and the College.ÌýThey work in coordination with theirÌýDeanÌýtoÌýserve as the first point of contact forÌýmembers ofÌýdepartmental assessment committeesÌýand department chairs, forÌýwhomÌýthey provide guidance to develop program and course learningÌýobjectives,ÌýimplementÌýassessment methods, analyze the collected data, and effect change leading toÌýimprovement in student learning outcomes.Ìý
- Collaborate with departmental assessment structure and department chairs to work towardsÌýbest practices on academic assessment.Ìý
- Focus on a formative, multi-measure approach to theÌýassessment processÌýthat improves student learning, in alignment with a department’s greatest needs.Ìý
- Provide guidance and feedback on annualÌýAssessment Progress Reports, including the development of meaningful Assessment Plans and Re-Assessment Plans.Ìý
- Provide guidance and feedback on Implementation Plans (fromÌýAcademic Program Review) and support the assessment thereof.Ìý
- Support the collection and storage of assessment evidence needed forÌýinstitutional reaccreditation.Ìý
- Coordinate activities amongst the other Assessment Coordinators, the Faculty Liaison for Evaluation and Assessment, and the Dean.Ìý
- Actively participate as a member of theÌýQC Assessment Council.Ìý
- Engage in annual professional development related to evaluation and assessment.Ìý
