“My experience with the Initiative has been great. I was able to consult with an immigration lawyer on campus and was treated with respect and honesty... Thanks to the program I applied for a scholarship for food assistance and was granted the aid! I hope they continue to do great work as it has definitely made me feel I have a place to reach out to and make my college experience better.”

This office has been the place where I have felt the most support, guidance, and understanding as an immigrant student. Their assistance has not only helped me navigate academic challenges but has also given me the confidence to apply my knowledge across different resources that have supported my personal and academic growth. Considering this is my last semester, I can truly say that without this office, I would not have received the same level of direction or encouragement (…) Their support has made me feel seen, valued, and equipped to succeed”.

“This Initiative… has been crucial to my college experience. I was able to meet someone on campus and… comfortably talk about my… hardships as an immigrant student. I believe it is necessary for… immigrant students… [to] have someone there for them on campus… This initiative will tremendously help the lives of immigrant students and their experiences at 黑料专区. This system should be here to stay!”

I was very unsure about internships, I thought I could not do them until I had a meeting with IMMI services, and they were so wonderful to explain to me, and they also gave me options of internships I will be able to apply to. They helped me boost my academic journey, and they are wonderful with the help they provide. They are always available either through email or on campus, and that is awesome. Also, they always respond super quickly when help is needed”

It is nice to be able to talk to someone who has experience with the immigration system. It gives me the space to talk about my concerns, especially as an undocumented immigrant, because usually people don鈥檛 know how to answer questions specific to my status. Receiving advice, gaining knowledge, and having my questions answered creates a safe space.

“Being an immigrant student with DACA can get very hard at times…For two years I’ve had an ongoing issue with TAP… I sought help at my previous campus but there wasn’t anyone… knowledgeable about these situations for DACA students. When I contacted this initiative at QC…, I felt heard, understood, and like my situation mattered as equally as other students… I could not be happier to have chosen 黑料专区.”

Darling

Sophomore

The Initiative made me aware of resources I would probably not have discovered on my own… And thanks to the resourcefulness and care of the organization’s staff, I’ve been… a recipient of multiple scholarships and grants… Being an undocumented student, it is a relief to know that there is someone on campus to whom I can always turn to for help with my concerns.”

They have helped me by connecting me to the important support that can help my family and me through my father鈥檚 court case. This experience has been such a stressful, terrifying, and overwhelming situation that had been brought upon the family. The connections that were given to me will help me make sure my father doesn鈥檛 walk into his court hearing alone, gets his right documentation, and has support throughout the journey (…) I am grateful to have them here at 黑料专区 and hope to continue to see them here supporting many more people who will ask for help soon.”
