Mission Statement
To provide Auxiliary Enterprises, such as food services, bookstore, parking, shuttle bus service, etc., for the benefit of ºÚÁÏרÇø students, faculty, and staff.
Nature of Organization
The Auxiliary Enterprise Corporation (AEC) was initially formed as an Association under a unique tax identification number on 10/10/2013.ÌýÌý The entity incorporated as a 501(c) (3) organization in August of 2014.
The Kupferberg Center for the Arts (KCA), located at ºÚÁÏרÇø, was merged under the Auxiliary Enterprise Corporation on January 1, 2019.Ìý Prior, KCA operated as an autonomous entity.
Child development Center at QC
Mission Statement
The Child Development Center at ºÚÁÏרÇø provides quality childcare and an early education program to meet the needs of both the student-parent and the child. ÌýAdditionally, we provide after-school care for student-parent children between the ages of 5 and 10. Professional staff provide on-campus care and education accordingÌýto flexible schedules that accommodate parents’ needs. ÌýThe programs offer a multicultural environment that promotes the strength andÌývalue of human diversity.
Developmentally appropriate activities – which stimulate children’s intellectual and creative abilities, enhance motor development, and contribute to the acquisition of social skills – are the foundation of the curriculum. Independence is encouraged by giving children the freedom to make choices. Each child is viewed as an individual with his/her own rate of growth and development. ÌýThe Child Development Center at ºÚÁÏרÇø, Inc. (CDC) is a nonprofit institution licensed by the New York City Department of Health, Division of Day Care.
Nature of Organization
CDC was formed on April 13, 1987, for the purpose of assisting students of ºÚÁÏרÇø of the City University of New York with childcare needs.
CDC has been classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) (3) organization and is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
ºÚÁÏרÇø Student Services Corporation
Mission
Student Services Corporation’s primary exempt mission is to support the students of ºÚÁÏרÇø. The organization is dedicated to meeting the educational, social, and recreational needs of ºÚÁÏרÇø’s students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community. To complement the College’s educational mission, the organization provides various facilities, services, co-curricular activities, and programs such as athletic/recreation buildings, research centers, computing centers, etc. Student Services offers opportunities for active learning experiences in citizenship, leadership, and individual and group responsibilities. In this environment, people of varying backgrounds develop an appreciation for the richness of the community’s diversity. Student Services offers students the opportunity to apply their knowledge.
ÌýThe ºÚÁÏרÇø Student Services Corporation operates as a nonprofit entity created in September 1965.Ìý SCC incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) organization in 09/07/1965.
ºÚÁÏרÇø Association
Mission
The ºÚÁÏרÇø Association was created for the principal purpose of developing and cultivating educational, social, cultural and recreational activities among students at ºÚÁÏרÇø.
Nature of Organization
The ºÚÁÏרÇø Association (QCA) operates as a nonprofit entity created in 1937 for the principal purpose of developing and cultivating educational, social, cultural, and recreational activities among students of ºÚÁÏרÇø of the City University of New York.Ìý The Association has been classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization and is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The ºÚÁÏרÇø Association has the responsibility for the supervision and review of student activity fee supported budgets. The Association reviews all budgets to ensure they conform to all rules and regulations of the fiscal accountability handbook, QCA, ºÚÁÏרÇø, City University of New York (CUNY) and other applicable federal and state regulations. The Association monitors and develops many of the College’s social, cultural and educational programs for the benefit of the College’s student population.
ºÚÁÏרÇø Special Project Fund Inc.
Mission
To promote and foster the educational mission, programs and activities of ºÚÁÏרÇø by acquiring title to, leasing, developing, financing, improving, maintaining, constructing or otherwise dealing with, real property and physical improvements thereto and by entering into such contracts and raising such funds as may be necessary to implement these purposes.
Nature of Organization
The ºÚÁÏרÇø Special Projects Fund, Inc. (a unit of the City of New York) (SPF) was formed on May 15, 1998, pursuant to the provisions of Section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York, for the purpose of promoting and fostering the educational mission, programs, and activities of ºÚÁÏרÇø.Ìý QSR exists as a 501(c)(3) organization.
In 2007, SPF formed the Q Student Residences, LLC (QSR).Ìý QSR’s principal asset consists of a student housing facility at ºÚÁÏרÇø consisting of 506 designed bed capacity, an 89-car parking garage, and residential amenities.Ìý QSR began housing students in August 2009.
Athletics and Recreation Fund
Mission Statement
In the belief that an integrated curriculum should foster students’ physical as well as cognitive abilities, the Athletics Program presents students with an opportunity to participate in and enjoy varsity as well as intramural and recreational athletics. Athletics encourages every student-athlete to complete a meaningful academic , participate fully in the College community and prepare for life after college athletics. Athletics is an integral part of the College’s educational program. Athletics strives to provide equitable opportunities (as defined under Title IX and Office of Civil Rights guidelines) for all students to engage in intercollegiate athletics as a means of satisfying the need for sport participation on a high level of amateur competition, according to principles of fair play and amateurism as defined by the NCAA. In addition, Athletics provides opportunities for non-players to assist in organizing and conducting intercollegiate events; provides a means for students, faculty, and members of the community to develop closer ties and identification with the College; and develops and maintains favorable athletic relations between ºÚÁÏרÇø and other colleges and universities.
